Plant Protection Internship

Morris Arboretum of the
University of Pennsylvania
Job Description: This intern monitors the living collection to detect and track pest and disease problems on ornamental plants and communicates this information to staff members. He or she coordinates the daily operation of the Plant Clinic, providing diagnostic services to the public about pest and disease problems. This experience provides interns with the opportunity to hone their diagnostic skills.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• A good working knowledge of the ornamental flora
• Course work in plant pathology and entomology
• Good communication skills - ability to relate to the public both in person and on the telephone
The internship is a 12-month position beginning June 23. It includes health, vacation, and tuition benefits and weekly educational sessions designed especially for interns.
