AMERICORPS CAPE COD

Is accepting applications for 26 fulltime positions in:

Natural Resource Management
• Partner with nonprofit and government organizations to conserve, protect and restore the unique and fragile ecosystems of Cape Cod. Projects include habitat restoration, water quality monitoring, invasive species removal, trail building and maintenance and shellfish propagation.

Disaster Preparedness and Response
• Prepare the Cape Cod community for disaster AND respond to disasters when needed. Projects include emergency shelter operations, marine mammal stranding response and disaster response planning

Environmental Education
• Educate and involve the Cape Cod community and visitors by leading environmental and disaster preparedness education programs. Perform an environmental puppet show; give presentations on coastal ecology, recycling, composting and water conservation.

Volunteer Management
• Inspire and engage others in service by organizing community volunteer stewardship projects.
Qualifications: 18 years old; US citizen; Minimum of 2 years of college, work, or volunteer experience; Ability to perform demanding physical labor; Commitment to community service and/or environmental service; Ability to work well in a team setting; Possess initiative; Able to provide own reliable motor-vehicle.

Compensation: Living stipend, free housing, health insurance, travel allowance, educational award of $4,725.
