March 1st Ball Scholarship Deadline

In order to enlighten students in the joys and realities of careers as growers in floriculture, in 1992 Vic and Margaret Ball established an Internship/Scholarship Fund.

6 month internships (preferred) yield a working wage while interning PLUS $6,000 upon completion!
4 month internships yield a working wage while interning PLUS $4,000 upon completion!
3 month internships yield a working wage while interning PLUS $1,500 upon completion!

Students can obtain applications through the American Floral Endowment (AFE) website: www.endowment.org (click on “Education” tab, then click on “Intern Scholarship Programs”)

Key points:

-- Student selection is based on desire to have a career in floriculture, not just on grades. “C” students or better are encouraged to apply.
-- For spring, applications MUST be turned into the American Floral Endowment office by March 1, 2008
-- A letter of recommendation from a faculty member is required.
-- Internships must be completed within 1 year of acceptance and before students graduate.
-- Training must be performed in a geographic region other than the student’s home or school location. AFE will assist students with job placement.
-- Many of the best growers in the country employ students as Vic and Margaret Ball interns.
-- A Vic and Margaret Ball Internship and Scholarship adds significantly to any student’s resume.

Apply TODAY! Applications MUST be turned into the American Floral Endowment office by March 1, 2008: (mail applications within the next 2 weeks to be sure they are received on time!)
