Who is Plant Specialists
Established in the early 70s, Plant Specialists is a talented team of landscape designers and horticulturists. We consult, design, install and maintain indoor and outdoor gardens throughout the tri-state area, and have a particular specialization in landscapes for Roof-top terraces.

The company is based in Long Island City (Queens), New York. Just a five Minute subway ride from Manhattan.
Details of the Intern Program
The Internship Commences June 1 2008
Duration 10 Weeks
There is some flexibility around duration of the internship and start date if required to fit in with school semesters at differing schools. Please indicate the particular requirements you have when you submit your application.
General Duties
Interns will be involved in various aspects of design and project management, including drafting, purchasing, dealing with contractors and suppliers, site visiting, installations.
Compensation
Hours of work are typically 40 per week. Interns will receive $15 per hour. There may also be opportunity to undertake overtime, which is paid at time and half.
Other
Interns are responsible for their own living arrangements.
Candidate Requirements
Internships are open to college Juniors and Seniors pursuing relevant qualifications in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, or Landscape Construction.
Candidates should have should have a positive attitude, enjoy working as part of a team, have the ability to multi-task. Successful applicants should have skills in hand rendering, AutoCAD & Photoshop.
