Curriculum Changes in LSCPE Major

The main differences are:
Credit requirement is changed from 130 to 123
LARCH 241 has been dropped as a graduation requirement
Biology requirement is changed to Biology 110 OR Biology 127 (Botany)
Hort 410W is no longer a 'C or better required' course

So, what does all this mean to YOU.
• Students with semester standing 1 - 4 will automatically be in the new revised curriculum because that will be the curriculum 'in place' when you officially enter the LSCPE Major.
• Students with semester standing of 5 - 8 who officially entered the LSCPE Major before this semester (spring, 2009) have a choice: You can stay in the old curriculum OR you can switch to the NEW REVISED curriculum. If you haven't taken Larch 241 yet and/or Biology 110 yet, you might want to change to the new revised curriculum. If you need to take elective credits to make 130 credits, you might want to change because you wouldn't need but 123 credits in the new revised curriculum. If you received a D in Hort 410W and need to repeat it next fall, you might want to switch to the new revised curriculum since grade of D in the new revised curriculum satisfies the graduation requirement.
• Students graduating this semester (May, 2009) should stay in the old curriculum because you are currently finishing up all requirements for graduation in that curriculum.

IMPORTANT: Students who want to switch to the new revised LSCPE curriculum MUST sign a form in the Advising Center in order to MAKE THE CHANGE HAPPEN. Please plan to do that this week or next.

If you are confused by all this, please check in with me in the Advising Center this week or next, and I'll help you figure out which LSCPE curriculum would allow you to graduate the quickest. This is NOT an April Fool's Joke !
